The Badminton
We wonder how many of you jumped on the beach, in the park or forest, trying to hit that thing called a slip with some "rakets" bought some time ago from a sporting goods store? I think everyone who reads this article founds himself here. Yet there are few people who know that there are Clubs in Romania specialized in this sport, that there is a Romanian Federation of Badminton and that there are some people who work hard in order to develop and make known this sport. We intend to present in this little article badminton game rules, as they are applied in national and international competitions. The purpose of the badminton game is to accumulate 21 points, points that are made when the ball falls in adverse terrain or enemy gives the ball out or hits the ball twice consecutively.

Field of play - technical data

The pillars of the net, height 1550mm, are being placed in the middle line of the double-side land, whether the dispute is a simple game or not. The mesh that is made of thin fillet is dark and has a minimum mesh size of 15/15 mm and 20/20 mm maximum. Net width is 760 mm, height of the net in the midfield is 1524 mm. The net has a higher band of 75mm, bending over a cable that goes through it and on top of poles, it is evenly spread out, without spaces between the post and supporting beams. The land has a length of 13.4 m, divided equally in two areas, left and right fillets. Simple land width is 5.18 meters and double side band is 0.46 m. In the doubles, at service is taken into account the service line, located at the bottom 0.76 m of land. Each part is split equally into 2 parts to service, one right (score par service) and one left(for the odd score.).

REGULATION: In singles play, on either side of the net is one player, and in doubles two players. Before the opening match, adverse parties ballot. The winner may choose to serve, to receive or play on a certain part of the land. The losing party may choose what was left. The game is won by the party who makes the first 2 sets of maximum 3. Each set has 21 points in all samples. Equal to 20, the party that gained two points difference from the opponent, wins the set. Equal to 29,the party that won the point 30, wins the set. During a set, when the parties reach a score of 11 points they can take a maximum break of 60 seconds. The right to serve is decided by the actions previously played. If the office located at service wins the game action, then they win a point and will serve for the next point battle. If the action of the game is lost by the party served, the service changes and the opposite party gains a point. The ball is hit in turn by the party that receives or serves, until an error occurs or the ball is not in the field anymore. The party that won a set serves first in the next set, and land changes at the end of each set. Break between sets is maximum 120 seconds. In the event of a tie in sets, in the decisive set, land changes when one party has reached 11 points. If you forget to change land the decisive set and error is discovered, the score is preserved, performing the change immediately. In singles play, the players will serve and receive, from and in the service area in each one’s right, when the player who serves got an even number of points in the set played and will serve and receive, from and in the service area in each one’s left, when the player who serves got an odd number of points in the set played. At the service, no matter who serves, both the player and the receipt must be found with both feet in contact with the ground.
In doubles, players must first decide who will serve and who will receive the first service from the right land (player A and player B, for example). Player’s position at the service part will change with each point earned, the party found receiving, maintaining their positions to the loss of service, following the service as the winning point from his opponents’ service, the player in position is to service to the right or left , depending on the evolution of that part score, odd or even. After the service has been done and returned, the ball will be played by any of the players who served trails and then by the opposite side, until an error occurs or the ball ceases to be in the game. The order of players in service delivery and can be changed at the beginning of each set. Stopping the game and / or repeating action, can be done only with the consent of the judge in accordance with the Rules approved by the IBF badminton game, (eg if the service executes the service located at the reception before the party to be in position is waiting for the service, if a ball from another game or other land is disturbing, if a ball hit by one party, not of the service, is still hanging on the grid to the other side of the land).
